Adviser & Later Life Care Specialist
Whether it is within their own home or in a Care Home, it is important that all clients receive the very best advice and information about all aspects of the care that they need. I believe that an ability to listen, have a deep understanding and real empathy are the key attributes to being able to help someone who may need or already be in care. This includes their family and friends as well.
I have been advising clients on their care requirements since the first qualification was available back in 2007. First, as a Barclays Financial Adviser and for the last 13 years with St. James’s Place. I am extremely proud to be one of only a relatively small number of SOLLA qualified advisers.
Having personal experience with my own family, often gives reassurance to my clients. My love and passion of simply trying to help a client and their family through what is inevitably a complex and emotional time is incredibly satisfying. Every client and their family circumstances are different with different needs and factors.
About 5 years ago I became a Dementia Friends Champion. This allows me to help clients, businesses, care homes and communities become more Dementia aware, trying to help people live well with Dementia.
Along with Lee Walker, we also hold many informative talks and seminars on the aspects of Care Planning, Wills and Power of Attorneys to various groups including bowls clubs, community groups. As well as other matters of financial advice.
Will writing and Powers of Attorney involve the referral to a service that is separate and distinct to those offered by St. James's Place and are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
